Update

Alright, so the first step in my project is to start volunteering at the Friends for Life shelter. Well, I could not turn in an application until February! Anyways, it is now February and that means I need to get started on turning in an application because I want to volunteer and really try to make an impact.

Ok, so here was last weeks poll question: "How many states, before 1986, had felony animal cruelty laws?"

The answer to this was... four! Today, there are currently about 42 states.

Update

I want to volunteer at the Friends for Life shelter in Gilbert, AZ. So, I checked and I unfortunately cannot apply until Februrary! Until then I will be posting up other sites. Also, if you have any stories from friends, family, or your own experiences be sure to share them!

Challenge Accepted??

Alright guys, I have a challenge for you! What I'm asking is that everyone should try to donate something, such as your time, money, or supplies to any of your local shelters. Or if you want to help th wildlife, you can donate to organizations like WWF. Also try to get your friends involved! Then after you do this, post about it!

Answer to the Poll

I will be regularly posting a weekly poll that will be testing your knowledge on animal abuse. So, I will also be posting the answers.

The answer to this week was 5-7 million animals are put into shelters each year.

My Kitten

This is my kitten on the second night after I adopted him. He is playing with a sock if you guys wanted to know.

My Inspiration

For as long as I can remember, I have had a pet. So, I have become attached to animals and I am fascinated by them. Also, my grandmother has always strived to be a voice for them and I admire her for that. I have always wanted to do something for animals. Last year I donated a dog crate to a shelter. I called the shelter myself and I cleaned the crate to make sure it was clean. When the crate was given to the shelter I felt wonderful and it was great. Recently, I had a friend who found a kitten on top of a vending machine in a park. I adopted the kitten and I am glad I did it. Small steps do make a difference, and it is not impossible for everyone to take theirs. We just need the inspiration.

An Interesting Link

I found a link that is great for reading about different cases on animal abuse. It's down below!
